This Avocado Chocolate Mousse is not only rich, creamy, and delicious but also packed with health benefits that support mood, heart health, and overall well-being.

Ingredients (4 Servings)

  • 2 ripe avocados (about 240g)

  • ¼ cup regular cocoa powder

  • ¼ cup Dutch cocoa OR melted dark chocolate chips

  • 3-4 tbsp milk of choice (almond, coconut or dairy)

  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract

  • ⅛ tsp salt

  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup (or sweetener of choice, to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Slice the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh.

  2. Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor.

  3. Blend until completely smooth and creamy. If needed, add extra milk for a silkier texture.

  4. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.

  5. Serve immediately or chill for 30 minutes for a thicker consistency. Garnish with fresh berries, shaved dark chocolate, or a sprinkle of sea salt for extra indulgence.

Healthy Benefits:

Avocado – The base of this mousse is packed with healthy monounsaturated fats that support heart health. It also contains magnesium and B vitamins, which help reduce stress and boost mood—ideal for a romantic evening.

Cocoa Powder & Dark Chocolate – Rich in antioxidants and flavonoids, cocoa improves circulation, lowers blood pressure, and enhances cognitive function. Plus, it stimulates the production of serotonin and dopamine, the "feel-good" neurotransmitters.

Milk of Choice – Almond or coconut milk adds creaminess without excess calories. These milk alternatives support metabolism, brain function, heart health as well as digestion and overall gut health. If you tolerate dairy well, try raw, whole fat.

Vanilla Extract – Vanilla has calming properties that reduce anxiety and uplift mood.

Salt – Just a pinch enhances the flavors of chocolate while supporting electrolyte balance in the body.

Maple Syrup – A natural sweetener rich in minerals like manganese and zinc, maple syrup offers a subtle caramel-like flavor without the blood sugar spikes of refined sugar.
